Outreach

Outreach staff and trained volunteers provide basic necessities (food, water, hygiene) and linkages to emergency shelter, mental health, medical care, and other on-site services at StandUp for Kids outreach Center.

Outreach goes beyond the streets.

Reaching homeless youth means more than combing riverbeds, streets, and trails at night. Our Outreach teams are deeply invested in the Orange County community, working to ensure youth know that we are here and how to find help.

Including:

Education

Our outreach team attends community meetings, Parent Teacher Association meetings, visits schools, hospitals, community centers to help inform the community about youth homelessness.

Collaboration

Working with the coordinated entry system of Orange County and the Families Solutions Collaborative, we are able to partner, and refer youth to providers that can support our youths’ individual needs.

Prevention

Our prevention work starts in the schools. Outreach staff visit schools to help young people get the services they need before they’re made to turn to the streets. Our Road Map to Success program is facilitated virtually and onsite in several high schools across the county.
