Meet Clara Barton, our new Accounting Clerk. She started working with us at the National Office last week. Learn more about her in her own words below.
Why did you choose StandUp For Kids?
I choose to serve at StandUp For Kids to make a difference in the lives of homeless youth, and to impact their lives in such a way that it alters the course of a child/young adult’s future for the better, thus changing the cycle of homelessness.
What excites you about helping to end the cycle of youth homelessness?
It’s exciting to know that with our combined efforts we will impact the lives of future generations.
What do you hope to bring to the Accounting Clerk position?
I hope to bring more structure and organization to the position. I would like to streamline the system across all areas, and implement a process to offer more accounting assistance to the various programs. In addition, I hope to create a paperless accounting process at the National office.
What did you do before joining our staff and what else keeps you busy?
Before joining StandUp For Kids I worked with Simpson Non-profit Solutions for various non-profits. In my spare time I volunteer with the children’s ministry through my local church, and will transition to the Foster Care ministry in the near future.
