StandUp For Kids – Hampton Roads Co-Executive Director Nicole Pixler was nominated for a Community Hero Award through Man City! After being nominated in January, along with thousands of others, the nominees were cut down to a few hundred in March, with Nicole making the cut. In April, they narrowed it down to three people, a man in the UK, a man in India and Nicole! Along with being an awesome Co-ED for Hampton Roads, Nicole is doing a great job getting the name StandUp for Kids internationally known!
Here’s what the Man City site has to say about Nicole:
“Nicole has been volunteering since the age of fourteen and for the last three years has been working with StandUp For Kids Hampton Roads, a non-profit organisation that helps support disconnected and homeless youth in Virgina Beach. As well as running her own daycare centre and studying full time, City fan Nicole has also become the volunteer co-Executive Director of StandUp For Kids (- Hampton Roads). She is dedicated to making sure that the most vulnerable young people in the community have access to food, shelter and know there is someone who cares. Nicole was nominated by her husband, Matt, in proud recognition of her hard work. Nicole’s phone rings 24/7 but when it comes to “her kids”, there is no off time if they need help.”
